What’s your pen name and tell me about the books you like to write.
My pen name is Catherine X. Zombie and I love writing high fantasy middle grade books.
What character of yours would you lock in a dungeon and why?
My main villain, Mal. She is so dangerous and has wreaked havoc on the MC’s world for so long.
What character of yours would you grant three wishes to and why?
I’d love to give all my protagonists three wishes, but if I had to choose, I’ll go with my MC, Tristan. He’s so shy and innocent, I doubt he’d wish for anything malicious.
What character of yours would you tell your biggest fear to and why?
I’d again, have to go with my MC’s best friend. She’s so sweet and selfless, she’d never ridicule anyone’s fears or emotions.

“There was a flash of light, and she crashed to the ground.”

“The smell reminded Tristan of fetid carrion left out in the sweltering summer sun.”
What would your most epic villain say if warned:
“Don’t go down that tunnel, there could be a mass herd of Giklorns!”
“I’m the king, I can do whatever I want!”
What would your most epic heroine say if encouraged:
“Hurry down that tunnel, the mass herd of Gilkorns are waiting!”
“I wonder what’d they want? Maybe I can negotiate with them, fighting isn’t always the answer.”
Tell me why you’re passionate about writing. (Make me cry)
I’ve always written short stories as a kid. Creating characters and I was the girl who always read fantasy tails of dragons and mythical creatures. When I found out I could actually make money producing stories of adventure and whimsy, I was elated. I want to write stories kids can enjoy, tales of close-knit friends and daunting adventures. I also want to give people something to enjoy, characters to relate to, and even some life lessons. I always looked at books as magical ways to temporarily escape the chaos of life, I want to give others that feeling too.

What are your 2022 goals:
I plan on publishing my debut novel, Wizards of the Apocalypse: the Forgotten Prophecy!
