I never liked the cover so I hadn’t give this a chance despite reading all Hazelwood’s other books. So I tried audio a while after and really enjoyed this. So, don’t judge a book by its cover, everyone.
Instantly bought the sequel, Mate, after finishing.
I rated this one a 4.75/5 stars. The biggest part that aggravated me was Lowe’s short/clipped point of view chapters. There wasn’t much point in having his voice narrated at all.
Comments while reading:
Okay, Lowe’s response IMMEDIATELY after sex has me hating him for a bit, regardless of knowing what and why he’s acting that way. Asshole move, dude.
There’s no chance the weres would pair Misery & Serena together in that captive space.
What would they have untrained guards outside the cell?
How did they get free moments after Misery arrived when Serena couldn’t after three months?
The dad had way too long of a “villain speech of explanation” at the end.
Nice spicy scenes- loved them.
