It pains me to write this since Alix E. Harrow is one of my favorite authors.
After chapter 2 I’m very bored and don’t understand the purpose of the story. There’s also huge time jumping to “years later” within a single sentence that would be easy to miss if not reading slowly. Everything felt like telling.
At page 43 I’m frustrated because I live this author so much but am not enjoying myself whatsoever. Maybe because it’s written in an add “second person” using “you.” I felt very removed from the story.
