Title- Believe Me
Author- Tahereh Mafi
Rating– 5/5
Genre- Young Adult, fantasy, romance
POV- The biggest thing this series taught me was how to write better with emotions in deep first person POV.
Trope- happily ever after novella
Cover– Gorgeous
My emotions- happy, satisfied, comforted
Comments-
It was the perfect way to end the series. I needed this warm, comforting conclusion full of happiness to tie it all up. The Grumps, Aaron, finally finds friends & a place to call home. Weapon, Juliette, “Ella” surprises him with a wedding and it’s all happily ever after. I liked how this series finale was steamier than the others.
Characters-
The whole novella was from Warner’s POV. “Dog” was an extra bonus.
Plot/Blurb-
Juliette or “Ella” and Warner fought hard to take down the Reestablishment once and for all. Life in the aftermath isn’t easy, as they and their friends at the Sanctuary work with their limited resources to stabilize the world.
Warner has his sights set on more than just politics. Since he proposed to Juliette two weeks ago, he’s been eager to finally marry her, the person he loves more than anything and has endured so much to be with. But with so much chaos around them, it’s been nearly impossible for them to have a wedding. And even Juliette has been distracted by everything they need to do.
At long last, Warner and Juliette’s future together is within reach, but the world continues to try to pull them apart.
Best part- Kenji’s humor as always
What I’d change- The 3 comments seemed kind of harsh towards Warner from his friends in the miscommunication, but I understand the novella needed a little tension
Quote- “… I see you. I see your love every time you sacrifice your comfort for mine. But I want to take care of you, too. I want to give you peace. I want to give you a home. With me.”
Pacing- fast. I read this in one sitting.
