What’s your pen name and tell me about the books you like to write.

I don’t use a penname. I’m Jerri Drennen and my genre of choice is romantic suspense—sometimes with a paranormal twist or a little action adventure.

If you had to pick only one:

Pretties cover or best cliffhanger ever?

That’s hard. The cover can sell the book. But the best cliffhanger might get you more buzz. I’m going to go with the cliffhanger.

A 10 book series of 200-page books or a 3 book series of 700-page books?

I’m a shorter story writer, so I’ll go with the 10 book series, 200 page books.

Alpha hero or alpha heroine?

Alpha hero all the way. I love writing men with attitudes!

What would your hero say when asked, “Are you sure you want to eat that?”

Not sure why anyone would ask that unless it’s chocolate-covered crickets or something.

What would your antagonist say if told, “Don’t worry, I locked him inside your fridge…”

“How long has he been in there?”

Where would you want to travel to that’s within your books and why?

I have only written one book where they had traveled outside the US. Most of mine are based close to where I actually live but I wrote a series where they went to Lake Charles, LA. I’d like to go there since I have a writer friend who lives in the area.

If you won the lottery, how much money would you spend on bookish related items?

Well, I’d have to buy a lot of books to fill the library in my new mansion.

What book did you hide from others so they wouldn’t know you read it?

I read The Great Gatsby in the 4^th grade. The librarian at school almost wouldn’t let me check it out at the time. She said it was too adult for me.

Tell me one person you’d dedicate every book to if you were forced to pick only one

My LH who I lost at the end of April. I did dedicate most of my books to him since he was my biggest supporter.

What book do you want to read next?

Kate Pierce/my mentor has a new cowboy series that I will probably be beta-ing.

Tell me about another author you’d recommend to readers.

Sara Westill has a new Gen-Heirs/post apocalyptic series that is fantastic.

What are your 2022 goals:

I want to finish my latest series which is romantic thriller meets the talking dead.
