What’s your name and what book would you buy all your friends if possible?
Michaella Dieter. That’s a hard question, there’s so many great books! Probably Darkfever by Karen Marie Moning.
What’s your favorite trope and name two books you love that fit that trope.
So many tropes…I’m going to go with revenge. The Mind F*ck Series by S.T. Abby is a great one, along with The Black Hand Series by CM Wondrak.
Tell me a book you’d want to live inside and why?
Can I be cheesy and choose my own? I totally adore my two men from Upon Blooded Lips, and would quite happily be the filling for the sandwich! There’s never a dull moment.
What hero/heroine traits do you fall in love with?
I love the villains – the ones that are evil to everyone else, except the woman they love. I want all the possessiveness, the whole “I’ll burn down the world for her” vibes.
What makes a book a 5 star instead of 4 star?
A five star read, for me, brings out a lot of emotion. I don’t mind if it’s negative – it can be joy, lust, fear, anger … I just want to feel something. It has to be almost perfect when it comes to editing (I’m the type to be drawn out of the story due to mistakes) characters I fall in love with, and a story that I’ll remember. Four star reads have less emotion, more mistakes, and although I’ll enjoy them very much, most probably won’t be a reread.
Describe the perfect date with your book boyfriend/girlfriend.
I would love to go for a drive out into the country, maybe explore a little village or castle/abbey. Go for lunch in a rustic pub, spending hours talking. I’ll leave it PG rated.
Do you like clean or spicy romance and why?
100% spicy! I don’t enjoy clean romances. I’m not sure I can exactly put a finger on why … I just prefer it.
What book are you most excited to read next?
I don’t have any at the moment, but I’ll say anything by Sheridan Anne, Ker Dukey, Britt Andrews, EM Moore, and Siobhan Davis.
Give me a plug of something you’d love all bookish people to purchase and why it’s superb.
The Fever Series by Karen Marie Moning! It has everything – darkness, danger, faeries, magic, the best book boyfriend ever, superb writing, immense feelings, and an incredible storyline. It’s the only series I own all in hardback, and the only series that I reread regularly. And a bonus – it’s complete! I’ll never stop recommending this one.
