600 pages is a lot for me and I didn’t give it enough time to post a real review. I also really like to binge series and the sequel doesn’t come out for a while.
In the beginning there was too much heavy world building and telling right off the bat. In the first few pages the overwhelming amount of proper nouns turned me off:

Balea
Min
Silver City
Saeris Fane
The Third Ward
Believer
Madra
The Hub
Elroy
It took me too long to figure out who the main character was and to feel connected to the people in the scene of the first chapter.
My sister helped me not feel guilty about not giving this one a shot. I believe her direct quote was: “Well, you usually don’t like the most popular books anyway.”
