Review #587
I listened to this audio because it was free and had a cute cover. In the beginning I almost stopped it because of the plausibility of a bunch of details didn’t feel realistic but I stuck with it. Overall I gave this standalone romcom a solid 4.5/5 stars. I’m glad both Griffin & Lana had their own narrators. Honestly I’m usually turned off by plots surrounding Hollywood, social media, and modern USA hyped culture, but the mystery about her sister kept me intrigued.
When they slept together I didn’t even know it happened, so I either tuned out on that closed door scene or it was barely mentioned at all. That part was kind of sad. I wish each blurb had an asterisks by it with a proper spice rating to at least give the tease an estimate of steam.
My biggest concern was many things didn’t feel realistic, like how she didn’t even know his name. I mean, she doesn’t live under a rock & used the internet at her job … so that part was too far fetched.
It was cute, exciting and I binged it quickly. Would recommend.
(Also not a fan that it was third person narrative)
