review #585

I picked this because it was a free option on Audible and rated it a 4.0/5 stars.

It had two points of view but one narrator. I wasn’t thrilled with how the narrator did the intonation of the guy’s personality and vibe.

This romcom by Lily Parker only had 2 details that bothered me. The female narrator didn’t do a spectacular job with the voice of the male. And I don’t mean dropping her voice, but like the intonations she used in HOW he said things. The other part was that the too good to be true unicorn man and phenomenal setting and lifestyle just wasn’t relatable or realistic.

Honestly there weren’t enough conflict and obstacles. Then when there was an issue in the climatic moment at the end it was based off a misunderstanding which was frustrating.

I’d recommend it but probably not read more by this author unless I get a raving review.
