Review #581

This is the third installment of the series. Unfortunately, I didn’t finish Children of Anguish and Anarchy. I made it to about page 80 which was about 25%. The best part- the chapters were pretty quick and short which makes it an easier read and that it was in first person narrative which is my preference.

Here were my notes while reading:

I read the first two so long ago that I don’t recall the plot point but the story was impactful enough that I still remember the basic vibe.

The sentence structure is cut quite short and to the point. It’s a little distracting with how abrupt it feels.

At page 66 it’s been only action & fighting back to back with no break. Which is a lot.

I’m tired of so many sentences starting with the word “I” such as on the page I just finished there were 19 sentences and 12 of them started with “I…”

There’s barely any dialogue and I don’t feel emotionally invested because of how quickly it jumps between the four points of view.

My decision was based off the nonstop fighting without anything else to grasp onto

Gorgeous map
Heavy world building
Beautiful sprayed edges
