This was a bookclub choice and I listened on audio. I’m soooo glad that not only were there 2 narrators but the female did all female dialogue within the male’s point of view and vice versa.
I gave this fun romcom with a magical twist a strong 4.8/5 stars. I’d actually love to see this one as a movie. The title was adorable, the cover caught my attention (though men in kilts are not a turn on for me), the blurb/premise gave me all the best things & it had deeper characterization than I would’ve expected.
The female narrator had a lot of strong emotions in her voice which was lovely and rare and I absolutely adored the male’s accent.
Sidenote- I loved the monster sex! Ridges?!?!? All for it!
The villain was predictable so I wish their was a bit more of a twist but the history and ancient legends in the backstory was done well without being too confusing or heavy.
Each character’s grief was represented well without being too a healthy balance between the lighter scenes.
