Review #570

I’m not a huge fan of the name of the title, but whatever. There’s multiple covers, this being the other option:

“I pity the man who clips her wings.”

“If this was weakness, he wanted to be weak. If this was sin, let him be damned to hell. Kissing her was like a realignment. There was before, when everything was off its axis. And there was after, when everything was steady and right.”

“What’s difficult is refusing to harden your heart despite having every reason to. Despite knowing the odds are against you.”

“Sometimes our paths must diverge from those we love. But if love is the highest power, our paths will converge again- if not in this world, then the next.”

I liked the first book better in this duology and will give this one a 4.4/5 stars mainly because of one scene at the end that was done really well.

My random thoughts (with spoilers) while reading:

Prediction: The missing heir must be Rune. 100% no doubt.

So I need a good reason explained about WHY Cressida is so obsessed with Gideon compared to any other guy.

It’s frustration when so many of her thoughts don’t match her actions

They’re sooo adamant about living in denial lol

Don’t think they had witch hunting hounds in the first book…?

Halfway through it had been a little repetitive so I’m glad they’re starting to be upfront with each other and communicate.

Page 264 I’m getting to the point of getting frustrated with their games

Honestly that constant whiplash of back and forth between mistrust and love is getting exhausting.

Omg. There are only 70 pages left and there’s STILL going back and forth.
