Review #518

I listened to this thriller on audio and gave it a 4.3/5 stars. It had 3 points of view for the three sister characters but really 6 since half were “then” and half were “now.” I was interested enough to binge it thought about it while not being able to read which is a good sign but still thought the climatic moment was a little disappointing. Sometimes it’s hard for thrillers to give the big “pow” moment with the reveal of who dunnit.

Question- Are there any thrillers out there without emotional or physical abuse by a male? Not sure if I’ve yet to find one.

Since I have an 11 year old daughter, 12 years old seems too young for Daphnes character. That part was hard to connect with.

There were so many things not answered until the very very end that once all the reveals were given it almost was too much to keep track of and I wish they had reconfirmed it all in a secondary conversation with another character so I could verify I understood all the threads and how they related to each other. I didn’t want to feel any slight bit of confusion at the end to know the full story yet that still partially happened. If I had to write down all the answers to give to a friend I’m not sure I’d comprehend the entire picture. Which is a shame.
