Tropes- Enemies to Lovers, She moves first, only one bed, touch her and d!e, Falling for the villain
He’s the dread pirate captain who kidnapped her brothers. She’s out for revenge. For seven years, Wendy has been preparing for the day that she can finally return to Neverland, rescue her brothers, and take her vengeance on Captain Hook. But when she finally returns, things in Neverland aren’t how Wendy remembers. Since when did Peter come off shallow and grating? And the captain of the Jolly Roger has a strange allure that is oddly difficult to resist. When Peter tells her that her brothers are dead, her world is shattered. And yet, Hook claims they are alive. He will lead her to them if she retrieves a powerful weapon capable of destroying all of Neverland. She can’t trust his searing forget-me-not gaze. She shouldn’t agree. But Wendy will do anything to find her brothers. Even bargain with evil itself in the form of one James Hook. Veiled in Stars and Silver is one of ten books in the Enemies Ever After series, a collection of standalone short novels featuring enemies-to-lovers fairy tale retellings with a touch of steam.

How long have you been writing and why did you start?
I have been writing since I was a teenager but I first started publishing my writing in 2020. I took a class in creative writing and I’ve always wanted to publish a book so I just kept applying what I had learned and viola! My first published book.

What is your creative ‘process?’
I usually come up with an idea and I get excited. Then I map it out to make sure that I have all the major points in the story covered, add some cool twists and then start writing. The character arc usually develops a bit before and partly as I am discovery writing. Then I put it thought my critique group and run it past my critique partner. After I’ve made those edits, I run it by beta readers and then do hard line edits before it goes to an actual editor.

Who do you look up to most in this profession and why?
I probably look up to Brandon Sanderson a lot. He does a lot as a big author to help out smaller authors and I really appreciate that.

What is the most surprising thing about being an author?
I think right now the most surprising thing I am finding is how addicting this process of writing to publishing can be. I just want to do it faster and faster. But I have to remind myself to slow down so I can always make sure I am delivering a high quality product to my readers, which is the most important thing.

What’s something unique about yourself or your writing?
I like to create puzzles out of my character art, put them together, and frame them and put them up on my wall whenever a new book releases.

Finish this sentence: “When she reached forward towards the doorknob ….
When she reached for the doorknob, she paused, turning back to look one more time into the dark eyes of the man she was leaving behind, memorizing every feature of his handsome face.

What is one of your exciting upcoming ideas/themes for a project you haven’t started yet?
I’m really excited about my Rumpelstiltskin retelling that hopefully will come out next year. Its a love story between a vampire and a demon, enemies to lovers. There are demon trials that they have to survive in together. Basically it is The Serpent and the Wings of Night meets Rumpelstiltskin. Its going to be so much fun to write!
