I read the first book in this series called “The Tourist Attraction” and gave that one a 4.5/5 stars. I distinctly remember a moose friend.
Mistletoe and Mr. Right was given to me by Santa on Christmas morning last year of 2022 so it’s been waiting on my TBR pile for 11 whole months counting down until this moment. Here we go…
Chapter one was very long and there were a lot of characters brought up, a lot of telling of backstory instead of showing & a confusing voluntary agreement for Lana to track down a destructive ghost moose in this Alaskan town despite having no wildlife tracking experience.
At page 40 I’m struggling. The plot, characters & writing feel a bit bland & dry. I’m not intrigued or excited about anything yet.
Unfortunately, soon after I DNF’ed this one. After skimming chapters at the midpoint and end of the book I stand by my decision that it was the right choice for me since those pages seemed boring too.
You might adore this holiday book so please still give it a try. Here’s the blurb.
Lana Montgomery is everything the quirky small town of Moose Springs, Alaska can’t stand: a rich socialite with dreams of changing things for the better. But Lana’s determined to prove that she belongs…even if it means trading her stilettos for snow boots and tracking one of the town’s hairiest Christmas mysteries: the Santa Moose, an antlered Grinch hell-bent on destroying every bit of holiday cheer (and tinsel) it can sink its teeth into.
And really…how hard could it be?
The last few years have been tough on Rick Harding, and it’s not getting any easier now that his dream girl’s back in town. When Lana accidentally tranquilizes him instead of the Santa Moose, it’s clear she needs help, fast…and this could be his chance to finally catch her eye. It’s an all-out Christmas war, but if they can nab that darn moose before it destroys the town, Rick and Lana might finally find a place where they both belong…together.
