Review #475
I listened to the audio of First Psych by Cara Bastone because I listened to 3-4 of her other works and loved them. This one was my least favorite of hers at 4.2/5 stars but it was still enjoyable and lighthearted. This clean romance had natural dialogue that goes back and forth like a script instead of points of view where a female narrator lowers her voice for the man’s part and the male narrator raises his voice for the heroines dialogue.
This makes it feel more natural but overall the guy was super golden retriever like a puppy on caffeine overdose. Because of this I was never attracted to him because he was waaaay too happy and upbeat. I couldn’t imagine any serious situation such as him kissing. But I’m glad they found their happily ever after.
I was also glad that even though they were college students they were 28 & 29. Their cute jokes were adorable especially the middle name situation.
