Review #451

I kept forgetting the title name of With You Forever, but I’ll give this contemporary romance a 4.4/5 stars. I love how real the characters feel. It’s a standalone with 2 PoV within a series.

So Rooney and Axel both have secret crushes on each other and already shared a kiss months ago which has only worsened said feelings. Axel ready sounds like Mister Hottie Grumpy Painter in flannel and Rooney … well she’s a bit down so I’m unsure of her character so far. Since she’s been having a hard time, her best friend offered a free stay in the family guest house but when she shows up, Axel says it’s uninhabitable due to pipe bursts.

Rooney’s chapters/PoV are stressing me out with her health issue.

I don’t like arranged set-ups and marriage so the beginning has the start of two tropes that aren’t an escape for me. Their sexual tension is enough for me to sit I around another chapter and see how it goes. Plus, I have a new book club with fresh faces next week and I don’t want to show up as a DNF.

Axel’s choice to sleep in the tent is adorable.

I do love fake relationship trope tho!

Ah the wedding kiss was so cute

I love the skunk update note from Harry

Halfway through I want scenes with them together again.

Chapter 19 is confusing because they agree to “get it out of their system” but then there’s a scene break and it’s confusing if it’s a fade to back situation and the good stuff is skipped over or if their “one night only” rule is still upcoming.

Chapter 28… that may have been the hottest sex scene I’ve ever read!

Stupid third act break up

There were a bunch of quote worthy monologues in the end few chapters that I’d highlight if I owned the book.

Unfortunately I skipped a bookclub for this novel since I still had 50 pages left on the night of the event but once I finished, I immediately ordered all other Chloe Liese stories in this series of Axel’s siblings.  P.S. This cover image shown here has different art than the one I read and unfortunately I’m not a huge fan of either.
