Review #631
This was the first book I ever co-read with my son. And by that, I mean we didn’t just read it like a book club. Nope. We shared ear buds, so it’d stop and start at the same time. We were on the same sentence at the same time and had reactions simultaneously which was fun. He’s 11 and LOVES audiobooks. I don’t usually listen to many mysteries, but it may be our “thing” together because we kept trying to figure out who the killer was.
We both enjoyed it but wanted a bit more of a twist at the end. Still, neither of us predicted the outcome. We were both satisfied with the ending and would read another by this author .
I’d rate it a 4.3/5 stars as a young adult murder mystery, but don’t have many others to compare it to in that genre.
Usually characters in high school aren’t my cup of tea, but since he’s 11 I need to find young adult books to share.
The premise was a group of 5 high school boys went hunting. One was killed. Who shot him? Was it an accident? Purposeful? Someone within the group of friends or someone outside? Why?
