Review #630

I’d rate this hockey romance audio a solid 4/5 stars but it didn’t blow me away. The characters definitely had depth. Even though it was a standalone, I could tell I was missing some bits and pieces from the prior books that formed the relationships.

My main confusion was how “cheesy” parts of it felt, like it was a Hallmark movie with the stereotypical “mushy” scenes on overload, yet it also had steam which didn’t fit into that traditional subgenre. It had a strange seesaw between the smut and the “love you so much” doe eyes that felt a little excessive with the declarations of feelings.

Secondly- I’m not a huge fan of the title’s name. It didn’t really mean anything to the story plot.

Loved the cover.

Really liked the family dynamics between all the women interwoven.

As you can tell, my reviews are short and sweet recently, but I’d recommend this one.
