Review #605
Cover – beautiful
Prose- no concern
Dialogue- witty
I’ve read over 5 books by this author and have 3 more on my shelf so obviously I’m a fan. This may have been my first audiobook listen by her. The accents definitely made a difference.
I was a fan of her world building as always with the fae with seelie/unseelie forms. As always, I’m not a huge fan of immortality though.
Again, as usual I’m obsessed with books about books so this one didn’t disappoint. I’d give it a 4.0/5 stars. Unfortunately the second half felt a bit repetitive and I tuned out a few times around the 60% mark.
Their rivalry was super cute and I liked that there were two points of views even though they were quite spread out at times. Overall, my favorite part was Edwina’s view on sex in her books as a female author in her society.
Honestly, the secondary characters didn’t stand out too much for me. I wanted Monte to be less of an ass, Daphne to have more umph & Cassie to be in more scenes.
