Featuring: “Spell Ya Later” & keep an eye out for “Witchy Woman” releasing July 8th

Tropes: Paranormal, small town, cozy, elemental magic, soulmates, first love, cinnamon roll/nerdy MMC (these are all for Spell Ya Later)

A world of magic, love, and independence awaits. All she needs to do is take one step forward and discover what has been hers all along.
Hazel Hollis has spent her life doing exactly what is expected of her. Banned from using her magic after the tragic death of her father, Hazel does everything she can to ensure her sister Laura can have a normal life. Even if it means sacrificing any semblance of a life for herself.
But no more. In an explosive fight with her mother, Hazel finally takes hold of her life and moves out. And into the apartment above the magic shop her grandmother owns. What will Hazel discover about herself? Her family? Her mother? The man who’s eyes she’s been drawing for the past few months but never met?
Noah Rogers, the man with the literal electric touch, who treats Hazel with love she’s never known. The owner of the eyes. And a person who deserves honesty. Honesty Hazel may not ever be able to give him.
With the help of a little bit of magic, and a little bit of love, will Hazel finally find herself? Or will she find a secret so powerful it could destroy her entire family?

How long have you been writing?

Unofficially since I was a kid, but officially I published my first book in 2023. I’ve always loved books and crafting stories. It was a way for me to escape into a world all my own and process the things happening around me.

What gets you in the mood to write?

Tea! I’m an avid tea drinker. I also have a playlist for every book I write that I listen to while working.

What is your creative ‘process?’

Brew a cup of tea, turn on my playlist, and hide my phone! If I can get on social media, I’m way less productive.

Who do you look up to most?

Honestly? Indie authors. I’ve met so many amazing people on this journey and they are some of the most supportive people I’ve ever met.

What’s your most recent 5 star read?

Any Torie Jean book. I also love Hazel Mack’s Ever series. January Bell can write anything and I’ll read it, and that also goes for Ursa Dax.

What is the most surprising thing about being an author?

How much of my time is spent on marketing versus writing!! It’s a full time job, that’s for sure.

What’s something unique about you?

I hate coffee! Can’t stand the stuff. I also can’t seem to write a healthy parent-child relationship into any book but I’m trying!

What is one of your exciting upcoming ideas/themes for a project you haven’t started yet?

Farm romance! I can’t call it a cowboy romance because there’s no cows and no horses. But it’s got that farm, small town vibe.

Who is one of your favorite heroines and why?

Winter from Reckless by Elsie Silver. I don’t know how Elsie did it but she made me obsessed with her despite hating her in the earlier books.

Cassie Swindon conducted this interview. Check out one of her nine published books. The Wicked Blue is a standalone (modern) fantasy romance that some would categorize as PNR. It’s a little mermaid gender swap retelling.
