Review #599

I’m still unsure if I know the definition of a scythe after finishing lol

This is the third standalone in a series of stabby & unhinged main characters. Sometimes it felt like the overlap of the characters from her other books felt a little forced, but it’s fine. Not a big deal

I don’t remember what I rated the other books but I’d give this one a 4.25/5 stars.

I loved the circus theme best.

At the 60% mark it says “one year later” which is very atypical for the pacing of stories like this. I mean, have they even kisses on the lips yet after all this time? How often have they seen each other?

The haunted house scene was brilliant.

The end with the letters got almost too romantically mushy for this type of murdery vibe but again, it wasn’t a deal breaker.

Epilogue 1 confused me because it switched to Roane instead

And it seems like epilogue 2 is introducing a new character? I was confused about that too.
