Review #575
First of all I don’t know if it’s spelled- The Love of My After Life or The Love of my Afterlife since it’s shown both ways on the cover.
This romcom by Kirsty Greenwood was a library book I borrowed and it got a 4.0/5 stars. It felt a bit cheesy, especially at the end when the emotions felt flat after “things” were revealed. The repetitive name dropping of authors felt a little unnecessary.
I like books set in a city where I learn about the architecture and museums while reading like those in London.
It was obvious from the very beginning that Cooper was the real love interest but I didn’t have a great guess of how it’d play out.
At the halfway mark there’s a bit too much repetition with her referring to fictional tv shows for any type of knowledge about how the world works. Otherwise, Delphie is mostly likable but a little irritating.
The cute rain scene reminded me of the bar scene from 27 Dresses
I do think the ending could’ve had a more powerful punch.
