Review #571
You, With a View is 4.5/5 stars on audio. (One narrator). There was a bunch of telling instead of showing so in the beginning I had a harder time staying engaged and focused on the story but after I got invested it wasn’t a problem anymore.
They go on a roadtrip to experience the honeymoon that never happened.
I don’t take as many notes during audios since I’m driving. This was more of a “mushy” heartfelt romance compared to those that have comedy. I’m glad she had depth with her realistic grieving of her grandma. It felt more sentimental than the usual ‘romcom.’
This book was an easy read with pretty metaphors. It won’t stand out among other romances I’ve read but I enjoyed it and will recommend it for a feel good story.
Some random comments-
Teddy and Theo… lol. Not at all obvious.
My least favorite “argument” scenes in books is when the guy withdraws and shuts her out. I’m over that pattern. Very frustrating.
