Review #563

My first 5/5 book of 2025!!! Two different timelines is a main point of this book.

I do love a good North Carolina setting. The pacing was slower than my average read but the descriptive prose of the scenery and small town was so picturesque and worth it.

(Be careful of spoilers):

Alrighty so I’m halfway through but trying not to think too hard about the logistics because any time traveling plot always confuses me. Like the 3x rule doesn’t seem possible if she’s already crossed 3x. And sometimes the rules sound like they contradict each other. But I just need to go with the flow. I’m very interested in why she left the early timeline in 1950 & how her father’s death might have a twist later & maybe if she somehow knew her daughter in 2023 without knowing it was her daughter (Birdie?). But yeah the fact that 34 year old June is talking to her 16 year old grandma is confusing.

At the end I’m highly satisfied and absolutely loved this book. I literally couldn’t put it down and want to buy this one to own then reread it!

I think I’ve loved all her books… new fave author?
