Review #503
I’d give this witchy romcom a solid 4.5/5 stars. Tilda has such a great voice! I could learn a lot from this author. Overall this book was very enjoyable, fast, cute & fun. It didn’t dive deep enough into any character but sometimes that’s okay. The surface level is a good palate cleanser sometimes. I’d def read more by this Avery Flynn.
Here’s me practicing how to write efficient blurbs…
Tilda
I don’t have an ounce of magic. Which is kind of a big deal since my family is the strongest family of witches around. However, some odd things are happening around me more recently with no explanation. For now I’ll blame Gil, my nemesis who keeps showing up everywhere. Please, universe, send someone else in my path for once.
Gil
I have a suspicion that there’s more to Tilda than meets the eye. Is she hiding something? It’s my duty to “spy” on her for the Council. Otherwise my family may never be freed. After my magic goes out of wack when we touch, the fates spiral out of control.
Here’s my random comments while reading:
If Tilda is not an outre then what is she?
It’s a bit convenient how often she and Gil are running into each other at these different locations. And why exactly is he her nemesis? I haven’t caught the reason.
The insta- infatuation is interesting since how will they ever know if and when it’s real when it been from a spell
Halfway, it’s getting a bit repetitive. But the yearning is sooo good. Like a whole book of extended foreplay and anticipation
The sexy scenes were done well but also felt rushed in the heat of the moment. I still wanted more feeling.
Question that may be a spoiler:
How has she not amplified anyone else’s spells until age 28?
Oh and I wanted full scene with Gil and his parents. The epilogue felt forced.
