Review #496
This is my first “paid” audible book when I upgraded to premium. If I could go back in time I’d probably only read this if it were a free selection or at least at a lower price.
I’ll give it a solid 4.0/5 stars.
The author is either an expert at diving and nautical info and cop lingo or did extensive research in sounding like an expert. I wish it had a few more high stakes action scenes since there’s so much time pondering and investigating. (Unless there’s a huge twist at the end it’s a bit bland and flat.)
Chapter 57 was excellent with tension but still didn’t take me to the highest point of a roller coaster which I wanted.
I’m unsure if this is considered a mystery or thriller or adventure. I loved the treasure and diving component since that felt unique but it had a LOT of dialogue and “thinking things thru” which slowed it all down in the middle.
