Review #479

I give this unique book a 4.0/5 stars. My biggest issue was all the head hopping.

Here my notes while reading (possible spoilers):

So do I like Cliff? He’s kind of bland so far and seems to be the means of telling the story instead of someone to care about.

I love the interior artwork images!

The dry humor is funny so far & a strength.

I wonder if the real names from history needed permission to be included.

After chapter 11 my biggest complaint is there isn’t enough emotion. The humor is almost sooo dry and flat now.

At the halfway point there’s soooo much head hopping it’s hard to be completely invested. I’m glad he graduated now instead of spending the duration of the book in the classes.

I like Gemma more than Dulcie so far. How will their stories all connect later?

When the students are at the school… where does the rest of the world think they are?

Who is Cliff’s sponsor and why?

After Chapter 37 I’m losing interest a little because the details seem unnecessary and it’s taking forever for anything to come out of this lengthy plan.

Honestly I’m getting pretty frustrated with random new characters being introduced this far into the story.

The ending was satisfying but still underwhelming. Unfortunately this wasn’t my favorite read but would be interested in a similar book with the same premise to this but has more intriguing prose, faster action, and higher levels of emotion shown.
