Review #470
Jo moved to London for her fancy art related job and decided to have a one night stand with a British guy. They hit it off and the sex is amazing. Of course surprise surprise, they work together at her new job. This cute, steamy contemporary romance is a 4.3/5 stars for me. I listened to it on audio and it had two readers for make and female. I can’t wait to listen to more by this author.
Here’s my random notes while reading:
(Watch out for spoilers):
OMG Heath’s narrator voice is so perfect it’s like a lullaby. And his name?!? Heath!
So I don’t think I’ll ever be a huge fan of office romances being the reason of forbidden love. It seems like a weak excuse. Maybe because I don’t view my professional “real” career as a central part of my identity. But it seems like people should always choose their happiness, love and/or quality of life over a job
They’re almost too mushy dramatic emotional in this book where I’m getting bored. This is rare.
After the “weeks passed by” statement everything felt too rushed. Their deeper feelings just popped up.
After he quit his job for her she’d be a total bitch to switch jobs after that
The side comments of “several months later” takes me away from the story and the timing and pacing feels off when it happens multiple times.
