Review #464

This audiobook got a 4.25/5 stars.

– lots of action

– 2 PoV

– Austen inspired

– setting plays a big role

Amelia had a one night stand with a British man during her vacation tour of historical literature settings. During her hangover she randomly remembered bits and pieces of strange events last night. One of which being a body rolled up in a rug, being dragged away.

Chapter 2 gives us Tom’s perspective even though he also doesn’t remember what much happened last night other than also seeing the body. For some reason he is also desperate to spend more time with this stranger, Amelia. Amid the conversations with authorities everything feels confusing.

It sucks that they don’t remember if they had sex. Also makes it less climatic if off page

I absolutely love that she has a unique passion/job of fabric- rugs, curtains. It’s unlike any heroine interest I’ve ever read.

The love language conversation was frustrating. Accurate but annoying. Amelia was saying that her ex could never understand her emotionally because he had a different love language than hers as acts of service. It’s not easy to meet a partner’s love language when they’re opposites but it’s not impossible.

How will we ever know for sure if their attraction is real or because of the salamander hallucinations?

So the the climatic scene is only between Duncan & Connor…

“Perhaps it’s not about escaping life but finding it.”

This audiobook was 4.25/5 stars. Sometime it was too preachy but I enjoyed the action!
