Review #455

I give this drama thriller a 4.0/5. I read it as an audiobook and the second half felt quite a bit different than the first.

Here’s my comments while reading:

The beginning sounds like a husband and woman in a non traditional marriage who are con artists trying to redeem themselves after a job gone wrong during their last mark.

Chapter 3 felt like a huge shift switching to the online group forum complaining about how terrible Effie was in the modeling world and a lot of easing disorder drama.

Is Effie the one threatening Ben or someone else? What picture did the person send him?

It’s still unclear why they picked this neighborhood to con and why they have picked this strategy to break up marriages and neighborhoods.

Kind of hate how the female characters are acting so easily manipulative and persuaded by Ben. Yes con artists are convincing, but I don’t want each women to come across as too naive and idiotic

Chapter 37 has a third pov of view introduced which has a lot of “telling” and may not have been necessary but still intriguing

Part 2- Will Effie have a PoV at all? Maybe we won’t know if she’s alive. Things will be more interesting that way.

I  had hope that something would turn out differently. Because I was wrong thinks felt a bit anticlimactic. Realistic but not as entertaining.
