Review #429

I give this standalone adventure/cowboy romance a 4.3/5 stars. There are two points of view.

Lily and Leo were hot and heavy as 18 & 22 years olds despite their short relationship. Once her father gave her the reins for the horse ranch, all her dreams were coming true. But Leo’s mom died and had to leave. Then they never got back together…

10 years later.

Lily is surprised when Leo shows up in her life randomly. Both hurt from the past, they are shocked and unsure how to proceed while stuck with a treasure hunting group out in the mountains. They need to trust each other to survive the wilderness.

I don’t know if I like the reason why they stopped communicating so long ago. But I guess an explanation like that is the only way they’d have a second chance capable within a week.

I’ve noticed I take a lot of less notes and comments while reading audiobooks. At the 65% mark the presex scene was written so well!!!

The race to find it definitely raises the stakes and lights a fire for the plot.

Leo doesn’t have flaws… that would be a critique I guess.

This reminded me of National Treasure and Indiana Jones combined.
