I LOVED the cover but didn’t finish. I probably would’ve liked certain parts of this if I had read further but I only made it to page 35. some vibes felt like The Hating Game since it was an official e romance. But the main character, Olivia, wasn’t for me. I don’t mesh well with people too sugary and bubbily they may as well be a lollipop.

Olivia loves the holidays, maybe a bit too much. As a social media intern downtown NYC, she leads a busy life and even grumpy Asher can’t lower her mood. I was excited for Asher’s potential but then was turned off by him early on and I’m unsure why. He wasn’t a grinch that’s cute but sometimes just mean.

I liked the setting of NYC during holidays, but it felt overdone. Too many cliches that it felt forced.

Some of yall will love this story though so here’s the blurb:

Olivia Langley is the human embodiment of Christmas cheer, and she has absolutely no problem spreading it around for all to hear.

Christmas sweaters? She has twenty. Christmas cookies? She’ll take three dozen. Christmas movies? Yeah, she’s seen them all.

So it’s no surprise when she’s put in charge of Loveridge & McGowan’s holiday festivities. Secret Santas? Yep. Ice skating? Of course. Holiday trivia? Duh. Christmas-themed bar crawl? That’s one big jingle bell hell yes.

Kissing her boss at a Christmas tree lighting in front of his ex-girlfriend? Well… it is the season of giving.

And Olivia does not come with a gift receipt. No exchanges. No returns. No refunds. All sales are final.

In an effort to ungrinch the grinchiest man she’s ever met, Olivia enlists herself, Santa’s Executive Helper, to scheme up a plan that includes sleigh rides, snow days, and one too many mistletoe kisses, which certainly gets Asher’s tinsel in a tangle.

She’s pretty sure that she sleighed this whole fake dating thing.

Well… until she realizes there’s nothing fake about her feelings for Asher.

But tangled tinsel, unsolicited Christmas trees, and pajama parties are suddenly the least of her worries. When a celebrity client’s predatory behavior goes public, Olivia quickly learns that presents wrapped up in the prettiest bows can still be hiding coal.
