Ephyra has killed 14 (terrible) people to collect their blood. It’s the only way to keep her sister alive until they reach the trained healer. “Their eyes went dark. And Ephyra felt a sweet, stated, relief, and in equal measure, a deep, inescapable fear- that killing monsters was turning her into one.”
In the beginning of chapter 2 I’m confused by all the proper nouns to keep track of

City of Faith
Archon Basileus
Festival of the Flame
Festival of the Flood

Azizi
Witnesses
South Sea
Hierophant
The Graced
The Prophets
The Immaculate One
Grace of Blood
Grace of Sight
Grace of Mind
Grace of Heart

Paladin of the Order of the Last Light
The Sentry
Akademos

The Sacred Road
I stopped at chapter 3 because of the list above and also because a third point of view was introduced and I already felt very overwhelmed by the two already shown. It sounds too much like a political plot like for my liking anyways but I’ve heard raving reviews for this book so give it a try.
I believe this novel is the first of a trilogy.
