There was nothing wrong with the book, it just has a few things I’m not currently in the mood for, the academia setting and third person narrative. I also may have read one too many B&B retellings recently.
Check out the initial map, it’s pretty cute. This seems to be in a related series .
One thing I didn’t understand was written in both the blurb and first chapter: Jaya has one mission: break an English nobleman’s heart. But first she has to fall in love with him… the way it’s worded, I don’t get it. Does that mean her plan is to fall in love? If so, then the premise isn’t working for me. Why TRY to fall in love to sabotage it yourself?
If she’s not purposefully trying to fall in love but instead just mess with an innocent guy’s heart that she doesn’t know… then I’m not interested in her personality or character.
Maybe it should’ve been marketed as: What if she ends up falling in love with him?
Because the word “had” in the original part is screwing me up. Sorry this was not picky but anyways. Enjoy this contemporary romance.
I appreciate another culture to read about a heroine from India, Jaya and her story with Grey, but this wasn’t the book for me at this time.
