If you read my review of the first book I was going to give it a 4.1/5 stars but rounded up to 4.7/5 because of the outrageous ending. I mainly picked up the sequel because I wondered if Niamh would make any shocking revival. I only got to page 50 but that’s all I really cared about.

Here’s my thoughts while reading if you’re interested:

The “Who’s who” start at the beginning of this sequel needs to be done in EVERY sequel for the rest of eternity. Thank you Juno Dawson for the recap.

Our prologue takes us back 35 years ago in Ireland where a pregnant witch has concerns about her unborn twins. The one she goes to for help prophecies that one will be good and the other sister- evil.

Is Niamh actually dead? That’s basically all I care about. I just want her revived somehow.

Just before page 50 I lost interest. There are soooo many characters to keep track of. And I hate Ciara. I think that’s the point, but I was just so turned off. I may never know the answer to the few questions I have unless I find some spoilers.

The positives in this sequel are the strong cast of females in this contemporary setting and their witty personalities and friendship.
