“Kiss of the Selkie” by Tessonja Odette earned a 4.9/5 stars for me. It reminded me of “Serpent and Dove” by Shelby Mahurin crossed with “The Selection” by Kiera Cass. The .1 point I took off was once in a while it felt too much like The Bachelor show. But otherwise this book was perfection.Continue reading “Review #337”

DNF Deep Blue
I love how the interior has colored design. The prologue was a tiny confusing with the poem like chanting and all the different words in another language. I think someone is named Vraja. And there’s a draga. And an Iele. I’m unsure which either were. The sea witches were either trying to free or imprisonContinue reading “DNF Deep Blue”

5/5 stars!!! I rarely love a book this much. AND it was a sequel, which is unheard of for me. All the hideously perfect dark prose made me super giddy. Read “The Keeper of Night” first. Here’s my live thoughts while reading: This sequel already starts with beautiful darkness of soul sucking of humans inContinue reading “Review #336”

Review #334
I’m rating this dark fantasy sequel a 4/5 stars. Read my comments below for my live thoughts while reading. It starts in Isolde’s perspective and honestly, I was a little lost at first because I’ve read so many similar novels that I couldn’t recall which plot this one followed. It slowly came back to meContinue reading “Review #334”

“Six Crimson Cranes” was a great YA fantasy full of adventure and action scenes, especially at the beginning and end. The middle portion had a slower plot to detail the characters. I loved the cranes theme and a strong, young princess as a heroine. The mute part felt a bit like the Little Mermaid whereContinue reading “Review #331”
DNF- Only A Monster
I didn’t finish “Only A Monster” despite how awesome the concept seemed. In was too bored in the beginning chapters and nothing grabbed my attention. Also, the writing doesn’t feel natural, but forced. In the first chapter there’s a lot of backstory and telling. I need more intrigue, like in the prologue when it’s obviousContinue reading “DNF- Only A Monster”

I rated this Nutcracker retelling as 4.87/5 stars. Midnight in Everwood by M.A. Kuzniar starts with a prestigious family dinner. Marietta, in 1906, is age 20 and apparently needs to entertain her suitors more thoroughly according to her parents. Neither know that she and her brother practice their own form of rebellion through art; he-Continue reading “Review #323”

Which ones have I missed and didn’t make the list that I need to read? #10- Bridge Kingdom andContinue reading “Top Ten Completed Duologies”
Review #321
The cover is breath-taking. But I’m giving this mermaid-esque fantasy novel a 2.9/5 stars. I read the first novel in this series many months ago but I’m immediately overwhelmed by too many names being dropped by page 2. To be reintroduced to all of these all at once is a bit too much too fast:Continue reading “Review #321”
