I give this standalone happily-ever-after contemporary a 4.4/5 stars. The story by Melissa Ferguson is in first person, present tense and has an adorable office romance trope. As much as I love novels with two points of view, it’s refreshing that this one sticks with only Savannah’s POV, which is a necessity for the plot.Continue reading “Review #261”

I rated this contemporary novel by Emma Scott a 3.8/5 stars. Phew, the last 3-4 chapters were hard to get through. Unfortunately, it wasn’t a happily ever after and no twists saved the day, but it might be a tear jerker for some readers out there. Page 259 almost got me. Tugged on my heartContinue reading “Review #253”

“Life’s too Short” by Abby J got a 3.9/5 stars for me. This is the third in this contemporary romance series and I read the first two recently. I enjoyed the first two more with Kristin’s story being my favorite. Abby’s fourth book came out last month as a Book of the Month selection andContinue reading “Review #247”

I gave The Flatshare by Beth O’Leary a 3.0/5 stars. This contemporary romance story was a bit flat and dry for me. It was also slow but I do recommend it for romance readers to give it a try. Here are my uncensored thoughts while reading: In chapter 1 we learn of the unfortunate circumstancesContinue reading “Review #244”

I gave Rainbow Rowell’s novel a 3.5/5 This romcom switched POV between first person in the emails to third person for Lincoln’s story Attachments started off with a bang of a witty exchange between Jennifer and Beth, seemingly best friends who know each other well enough to joke about inappropriate topics. Chapter 2 was aContinue reading “Review #243”

I have this contemporary romance a solid 4.2/5 stars. I liked the first in this series better than this one. Their relationship was sweet. There weren’t any unexpected turns or anything that had me on the edge of my seat. It was a cute easy read for a relaxing train-ride day. Here are my thoughtsContinue reading “Review #240”

The Friend Zone by Abby Jimenez received a rare 5/5 stars from me! This friends to lovers had so many feels and I felt like I went on a whole, deep journey with Josh and Kristen instead of staying in the shallow water like some other contemporary romances. There are two more books in thisContinue reading “Review #233”

The contemporary romance of “November 9” was a solid 5/5 rating for me. I’ve read more than a handful of CoHo books and I’m finally starting to understand the rage. Her characters are so crystal clear and layered from the very first chapter. It reminded me of “One Day” by David Nicholls and “This TimeContinue reading “Review #226”

I rated The Kiss Quotient by Helen Hoang a 4.6/5 star. There are two others in this contemporary romance series, but it could also be a standalone since it ended tied up in a neat little bow. I loved that the two points of view switched between the main characters, Stella and Michael (however IContinue reading “Review #221”
